Celebrate! (OR WHY BIRTHDAYS ARE IMPORTANT EVEN IF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE)
I have two birthdays. Yup two. Twice the fun and cake and presents. How?Someone goofed on my birth certificate, put in the wrong date and it was not discovered until I was mortified by the DMV official who said perhaps I wasn't ready for a license if I didn't know my own birthday. Try to recover from that! My 16 year old self did not know how. So I have a real and a legal birthday. To make up for that supreme teenage embarrassment (not my fault), in true teenage fashion, I made them PAY with two birthdays! Fortunately it does not make me twice as old. So why do I think birthdays are important? They are a celebration of the first moment you had the breath of life in you. That breath holds so much promise and love in it that it must be celebrated. No matter what year it is. I'd like to dedicate this blog to my friend Celeste who turned 98 on her recent birthday. I celebrate the breath of life in you!
